This release brings time tracking and better task management to Flows, upgrades to trial balances, a batch of document workflow fixes, and the rename of Papers to Binders, among other changes.
You can now log hours straight against a project in Flows. Those hours show up automatically on both the project and the engagement, and a new project status board gives your whole firm a live view of where every project stands.
Task management got several upgrades too. You can nest sub-tasks under any task, and choose whether reassigning a task applies only to future work. Task owners are now shown right on the task. If a task gets sent back for changes, it can pick up at a later stage instead of starting from scratch. You can create projects in bulk, retire a service line, or spin up a one-off project in just a few clicks. Tasks can also be created automatically from your entity data, and if you refresh the page while viewing an engagement, line, or project, you land right back where you were.
Tax trial balances broken out by class now show net income per class, and prior-year balances fill in automatically, with five years of history available.
Schedule M-1 adjustments now group together on the tax trial balance.
Synthetic tax accounts no longer clutter the chart of accounts. Their balances still count toward net income.
Consolidated tax trial balances now support eliminations and ownership percentages across entities.
UltraTax exports now keep decimal points on exported amounts.
Fixed a bug where prior-year roll-forward could flip the sign on a tax adjustment for credit accounts.
You can create classes from scratch, and the standard trial balance now groups accounts by class with a subtotal for each.
Closing the document editor now takes one click, and it warns you before discarding changes you haven't saved.
Opening a document by its link now uses a simpler web address.
When uploading several files at once, an "All documents" option lets you set attributes for every file in one go, and you'll get a warning if you upload a duplicate file by mistake.
The three-pane document view remembers how you left it the next time you open it.
Document previews no longer refresh on their own when you switch tabs.
Icons throughout the app are now easier to see for people with visual impairments.
K-1 and Form 9325 file names can now be customized per firm instead of being fixed.
The "Quarter" attribute has been removed, and "Client Uploads" is now a document category instead of a separate checkbox.
More actions are now available directly on documents instead of being tucked into a menu, and the list of document options is simpler overall.
Cleaned up confusing status messages on documents, and client notes now support rich text.
Fixed a rare issue where search results could go stale after deleting or adding documents.
A document's "recent" status now reflects when it was actually uploaded.
You can now upload files in the Answers composer, including by drag and drop.
Connector permissions now use simple toggles instead of dropdowns.
Tables in assistant replies now display properly instead of losing their formatting.
The sandbox now reconnects automatically if a session expires or the connection drops, instead of failing silently.
Papers is now called Binders everywhere in the app. Any links or integrations you already have set up will keep working.
Changing an agreed price now applies to unbilled work, and there's new guidance to help you set a price.
You can now combine a flat base fee with hourly overage billing.
Recurring charges bill automatically at the agreed price when the amount is clear.
Roll-forward now carries your customizations and template choices over to the next engagement.
The engagement setup wizard lets you choose how each line is priced.
Fixed an issue where firm-level automations showed up in places they shouldn't.
K-1s now automatically file to both the business and the individual partner.
E-file acknowledgement file names now include the client's name, not just their client number.
Removed duplicate client-copy K-1 packages.
Fixed an issue where e-file acknowledgements could get stuck in intake.
UltraTax CS tax returns now split into separate federal and state documents.
Windows users can now print documents straight to Denari from their regular print dialog, no extra steps needed.
Portals is now live for BMC and Lucida, giving both firms a way to exchange documents with their clients online.
Every user now gets a sandbox by default.
Fixed downloads showing as blocked or under the wrong name.
Fixed an issue with the Lucida print driver that could file documents incorrectly.
Connector permissions are now managed per user instead of per firm.
Fixed slow document uploads that could take 30 to 80 seconds.
