This release ships a unified billing workspace for Flows, document intake and portal improvements, thread sharing in Answers, and a set of fixes across Papers.
Flows gets a unified billing workspace for settlements and credit notes, built on a stronger shared-period billing model. The workspace brings review and settlement of billing periods into one place instead of several scattered views.
Client group editing tools ship alongside a data model split between billing groups and client groups, so firms can manage billing at the group level independent of how clients are organized. Projects also gain a per-service stage axis, letting teams track progress separately for each service within a project.
Every upload surface now asks for a filename and description before a document saves, replacing auto-generated names with ones a reviewer can recognize at a glance.
Documents can auto-publish to client portals by attribute rule. Folder organization for portal documents is now live in production for BMC, Lucida, and Denari.
K-1s can be split and routed to both the individual entity and the business entity that hold them, instead of filing to a single entity.
Answers threads can now be shared within a firm, so a teammate can open and continue a shared conversation instead of starting a new one.
The Net Income line is now tax-mappable, keyed on its source_id, with consolidated eliminations routed to the parent entity.
Trial balance tables poll for updates and relay invalidations across open tabs, so a change made in one tab shows up in the others.
Weekly roll-forward stays on its original day of week instead of drifting.
Signing out now clears the cached auth token in sibling tabs, fixing a login loop caused by remote logout.
Documents edited by replace-on-save editors now upload correctly instead of losing edits.
The DOCX editor toolbar stays legible in dark mode.
Named-tool policies now include toolkitSlug in their identity, fixing a policy check in Answers.

This release brings time tracking and better task management to Flows, upgrades to trial balances, a batch of document workflow fixes, and the rename of Papers to Binders, among other changes.
You can now log hours straight against a project in Flows. Those hours show up automatically on both the project and the engagement, and a new project status board gives your whole firm a live view of where every project stands.
Task management got several upgrades too. You can nest sub-tasks under any task, and choose whether reassigning a task applies only to future work. Task owners are now shown right on the task. If a task gets sent back for changes, it can pick up at a later stage instead of starting from scratch. You can create projects in bulk, retire a service line, or spin up a one-off project in just a few clicks. Tasks can also be created automatically from your entity data, and if you refresh the page while viewing an engagement, line, or project, you land right back where you were.
Tax trial balances broken out by class now show net income per class, and prior-year balances fill in automatically, with five years of history available.
Schedule M-1 adjustments now group together on the tax trial balance.
Synthetic tax accounts no longer clutter the chart of accounts. Their balances still count toward net income.
Consolidated tax trial balances now support eliminations and ownership percentages across entities.
UltraTax exports now keep decimal points on exported amounts.
Fixed a bug where prior-year roll-forward could flip the sign on a tax adjustment for credit accounts.
You can create classes from scratch, and the standard trial balance now groups accounts by class with a subtotal for each.
Closing the document editor now takes one click, and it warns you before discarding changes you haven't saved.
Opening a document by its link now uses a simpler web address.
When uploading several files at once, an "All documents" option lets you set attributes for every file in one go, and you'll get a warning if you upload a duplicate file by mistake.
The three-pane document view remembers how you left it the next time you open it.
Document previews no longer refresh on their own when you switch tabs.
Icons throughout the app are now easier to see for people with visual impairments.
K-1 and Form 9325 file names can now be customized per firm instead of being fixed.
The "Quarter" attribute has been removed, and "Client Uploads" is now a document category instead of a separate checkbox.
More actions are now available directly on documents instead of being tucked into a menu, and the list of document options is simpler overall.
Cleaned up confusing status messages on documents, and client notes now support rich text.
Fixed a rare issue where search results could go stale after deleting or adding documents.
A document's "recent" status now reflects when it was actually uploaded.
You can now upload files in the Answers composer, including by drag and drop.
Connector permissions now use simple toggles instead of dropdowns.
Tables in assistant replies now display properly instead of losing their formatting.
The sandbox now reconnects automatically if a session expires or the connection drops, instead of failing silently.
Papers is now called Binders everywhere in the app. Any links or integrations you already have set up will keep working.
Changing an agreed price now applies to unbilled work, and there's new guidance to help you set a price.
You can now combine a flat base fee with hourly overage billing.
Recurring charges bill automatically at the agreed price when the amount is clear.
Roll-forward now carries your customizations and template choices over to the next engagement.
The engagement setup wizard lets you choose how each line is priced.
Fixed an issue where firm-level automations showed up in places they shouldn't.
K-1s now automatically file to both the business and the individual partner.
E-file acknowledgement file names now include the client's name, not just their client number.
Removed duplicate client-copy K-1 packages.
Fixed an issue where e-file acknowledgements could get stuck in intake.

Windows users can now print documents straight to Denari from their regular print dialog, no extra steps needed.
Portals is now live for BMC and Lucida, giving both firms a way to exchange documents with their clients online.
Every user now gets a sandbox by default.
Fixed downloads showing as blocked or under the wrong name.
Fixed an issue with the Lucida print driver that could file documents incorrectly.
Connector permissions are now managed per user instead of per firm.
Fixed slow document uploads that could take 30 to 80 seconds.

This release introduces client portals, a redesigned bulk upload process, five years of tax history, and renames Papers projects to Binders firm-wide.
Client portals launch as a first version: a place outside the main app where clients can see documents your firm shares with them.
Five document types publish to the portal automatically: Payroll Checks/Reports, Financials, New Business, Tax Returns, and 1099. Clients see each one as soon as staff file it, with no extra step to share it manually.
Bulk upload has a new screen for setting attributes on many files at once, including an option to set attributes for every file in the batch in one go. This replaces the old drag-and-drop step: where you drop a file sets its attributes, and a confirmation message shows the result.
You can open a document in a new tab with middle-click, cmd-click, or shift-click, or from the right-click menu.
The document editor warns you before you lose unsaved changes, and the back button now returns you straight to your filtered document list.
Document preview no longer reloads unexpectedly when you switch tabs, so you stay on the page you were viewing.
Uploading the same file twice (same name and attributes) now shows a warning instead of filing it silently.
"Client Uploads" now lives in the Document Category field instead of its own checkbox, and the unused "Quarter" field is gone.
You can now set print document names, including K-1 and Form 9325 names, per firm instead of using a fixed format.
Icons across the app are easier to see, meeting accessibility standards.
Bulk-uploaded documents and reprinted PCS invoices file automatically instead of landing unfiled in Intake.
UltraTax CS tax returns now split into separate federal and state documents with clearer file names.
Prior-year tax data now goes back 5 years, matching what CaseWare offers, with balances filled in automatically for migrated clients who have no prior history in Binders.
Tax trial balance by class now shows net income by class in a grouped layout with subtotals, includes prior-year figures, and supports combining multiple entities with eliminations and ownership percentages.
Fixed two calculation issues: the tax trial balance was pulling figures from the wrong column, and prior-year credit balances were rolling forward with the wrong sign.
You can now create classes from scratch instead of only from existing templates.
A new billing option combines a flat base fee with hourly charges for extra work.
Price changes now apply to unbilled work automatically, with new guidance on setting prices. Recurring charges bill at the current agreed price whenever that's clear.
Firms can now connect Stripe to handle billing.
You can set a pricing structure for each line when building an engagement, and future engagements now carry forward templates, customizations, and task edits automatically.
Project status now updates automatically as tasks are completed.
You can create one-off projects directly, without starting from a template.
Tasks can now build automatically from client data instead of coming only from fixed templates.
